Bands and Modes 3-28,29-23
For our Fourth Tuesday of the month Wildcard we will QSY to 40 meters. After our 10M net tonight we will go to 40M, 7.238 Mhz LSB. We haven’t done 40 meters in a while. That’s 7.238 LSB after our 10M net at 28.360 USB. I hope to hear you tonight on HF.
Tomorrow, is our fifth Wednesday of the month, digital only after hours. We will be on 6M 50.625 Mhz C4FM at 20:00hrs right after the Digital Only Net. Now, I know many of you don’t have HF C4FM capability, however it does have some special capabilities. C4FM was designed to be used on 2meters. Now while FM barley works on 10 meters, on 6 meters FM really shines! And on the 991a you can do C4FM at 100 watts instead of 50. You can also engage the preamps on 6 meters as well. This allowed Bob and I to communicate even when we took different freeways home and when 2 meters was not working. I think it may be the best you can do for local simplex. Remember , during and after our nets, myself and maybe a few others generally are monitoring the Hemet Hangout & KE6JGM repeater. Please remember to back out of wires x on your radio, before you key up on the hangout, to keep the link working.
DV Wildflower Field trip has a new date:
It’s April 8th. The 8th is great cuz it’s not April fools day and it wont be raining. Right?
Please mark the date on your calendar’s. BTW this is another great opportunity to show the XYL what a great bunch we really are. Bring your radio’s and catch us on FM & C4FM. Information is on our website.
Dr. Fong gave us a truly outstanding presentation at our club meeting last week. What’s even better is his ARRL award winning designs are available to us as a club but only once. This deal is only available to clubs that he gave a presentation for and then only once and within 90 days. Our order must be done as one order, so use the links below to see the order form we’ll be sending in. Email Karen or myself with your orders. If we don’t respond your order isn’t placed! I’m getting the dual band vertical and the roll up. This is a real opportunity for us to save some money on a great design.
All orders must be confirmed by the end of our April Club Meeting. Please note that the link to my email is fixed in this announcement on our website. It was a typo.
