Roster Announcement 12-20-22

Today after the 10 meter Eagle net at 28.360 MHz, we’ll be moving to 20 m, 14.265 MHz USB.  That will be at 20:30 hrs tonight. Tomorrow for Digital only Net, Bands & Modes will be held on, wait for it, our club repeater. That’s right, we’re going to learn some new thing about C4FM, on our repeater!  We’ll be experimenting with the group mode feature. We’ll also be discussing APRS.
So join us tonight on 10 Meters at 20:00 then on 20 Meters 14.265 USB at 20:30.
Then if you have C4FM capability join us tomorrow for our Digital only Net and roundtable.

Winter field day is approaching quickly. Marcos, Charlie and I met Saturday, and outlined a few ideas. We would like to Raffle 2 complete 100 year anniversary ARRL hand books. That’s pending board approval. Also, 2 Drawings for 2 Baofang UV5R radios, 1 as a door prize and 1 as a thank you to our WFD volunteers.  We’ll also be FCC testing the day of field day in addition to our other testing day in January. W6SPY will be doing a demonstration satellite QSO, and AI6ZW is doing the cooking. Now Marcos, Charlie, and I thought tacos would be great Charlie even offered to buy the food at this market that he knows of it makes fresh tortillas. Steve would like to make us bacon cheeseburgers. So it appears that once again, we have a food debate for our upcoming event. Please raise your hand during rollcall if you have an opinion on food for WFD. Would you prefer burgers or tacos, and would like to help out with WFD prep or operations.

Next years VP KN6UNL is already hard at work! Dr. Fong will be giving a presentation on j-pole antennas at our March Club Meeting. This is a celebrated j-pole design and he’s going to tell us how it works. Really looking forward to Dr. Fong’s presentation! Thank You Marcos!

I have a new antenna, 2m/70 cm to tilt up and need a couple of helpers. It’s a Diamond 510 on a 24ft steel top rail mast. It’s going up to replace a comet GP-95 on a 21 foot steel top rail mast.

I put the 21 up myself but I am afraid the 24 might get away from me. I also have a Mosley to put up on a Rohn push up but not till later after I get the first one up.

After first of year to put the 2m mast up if anyone is up to coming to Temecula, we’ll spring for lunch and refreshments and even a polar dip in the 52 degree pool 🙂
