This an update on the upcoming club elections, a nominating committee has been formed.
It consists of Marcos KN6UNL, Karen KN6MJS and myself Richard W6YKG.
We have created a list of current club members and will be contacting them byemail and phone. We’ll will be asking them if they have an interest in serving as aboard member.
Also if they will contact any member they feel will make a good board member and urge them to consider applying.
We have found some of our contact information may be outdated so if you haven’t updated your information, please do so by emailing Hyatt our database manager or attend a meeting and provide your correct contact info. We are hoping to contact everyone by the end of this week. Next week we will get together and generate a ballot. This will be presented at the club meeting in October, for a vote at the November meeting.
7.06 Any member, who may be ill, out of town, or otherwise unable to vote at aClub meeting, has till November 30 to cast an absentee ballot.The following is some information that may be helpful from the constitution posted on the current website.
7.01 No member shall be eligible for nomination to an office unless they are a member in good standing (see Section 4.05 of Article IV) and they signify theirwillingness toserve, if elected.4.05 To become an officer or director of the Club a candidate must be a licensed amateur and have been a member in good standing for a period of one year ( orless if approved by at least 70% of the Board of Directors). Definition of “good standing” is attending at least 6 club meetings in a calendar year and a person of good character. Thats the update back to net
