Announcement From KN6RBP

I would like to thank our members for a really great turn out, at last week‘s meeting. Changes to the constitution we’re voted in, finally, and nominations for our club board members and officers went smoothly. A ballot with the nominations will be posted on the website soon. There are more choices than slots for director this year so give it some thought. A strong board can make all the difference. Let’s make 2023 a great year for the LDARC.

Tonight, after the Eagle Net around 8:30, we will be conducting a Bands & Modes, 75M exercise at 3.884 Mhz LSB. 40 Meters has been best so far. I’m wondering if 75M will get around some of our local hill even better. If you have 75M capability join us around 8:30 tonight.
After the Digital Only Net tomorrow night we’ll be conducting a 2m C4FM exercise. The same frequency we’ll be using this weekend at El Cajon Pass. 2M 144.925 Mhz C4FM.

Our Cajon Pass field trip is this Saturday. We’ll meet at the McDonald’s on wagon train dr. at 10AM. It’s right off the freeway. We will be operating 2M 144.925 Mhz C4FM. 439.000 Mhz FM w/DCS 026. You might even be able to hear us a bit here in Hemet on C4FM. That would be cool. If you would like to join us, raise your hand during roll call and check our website for more info.

The Hemet Hangout is back online. Furball coughed something up and after a, well complete rebuild is good to go. It appears as though a pi upgrade may be in the Hemet Hangout’s future. Probably a pi 3. In the meantime, it’s up and running and should continue to work fine for the foreseeable future.
After the Elmer Net this Friday and during Haden’s Rams Net, I hope to hear you at the Hemet Hangout. Haden’s net has lots of check ins and they go fast. It’s nice to talk with friends while in que or after your check in there. The Hemet Hangout is accessible by any personal hotspot, like pi-star at 59073. Come by anytime, stay as long as you like.
Wait, did I hear someone say they don’t have a pi-star? Win yours at our Christmas Dinner Raffle. Tickets are $5 each or 5 Tickets for $20. We still need a few more people to buy Christmas Dinner tickets for Prime Rib dinner at J&M. We get the big room if we sell just a few more tickets. 5 or so more tickets and we are there. So, lets get this puppy over the finish line and into the big room. See our doughnut lady, KN6MJS for tickets.

In addition to a 991a and the Pi-Star, more prizes are being added to our Christmas Dinner Raffle by the club, and also it’s members. There’s lots to win, and more raffle tickets to sell. Your odds improve the more tickets you buy. It’s Math!
