Diamond Valley ARES

Volunteer Emergency Radio and Digital Communication

Man made or natural disasters of big enough scope can overwhelm our normal lines of communication. Land lines, cell systems and the internet may be gone or unreliable. It may take days or weeks to bring in the infrastructure necessary to restore communications.  This is where ARES can provide vital communications resources for the responders and the public.
Every licensed amateur, regardless of membership in ARRL® or any other local or national organization, is eligible to apply for membership in ARES

Our hobby is based on the desire to communicate, and the use of technology to do so. Why not put that to good use by serving your community in times of need.
To apply for ARES® membership please go to ARESDV website.

You could make a difference, when it REALLY matters.

Give the gift of your time & communication skill. Become a ARES member today.

Nets

The Diamond Valley ARES®
group meets Regularly on the Lee Deforest Amateur Radio Club Repeater

  • Nets are on the 1st, 3rd, & 4th Thursdays of month, at 7 P.M. Pacific Time.

First Thursday of the Month

NBEMS

In addition to our weekly roll call, our exercise this week involves NBEMS practice.  To accomplish this, we migrate over to the City of Hemet repeater for our exercise.  Details will be given during the Net.

Third Thursday of the Month

Simplex

In addition to our regular roll call, we move over to a simplex frequency determined by Net Control to test our communications without the repeater. Refer to the pre-assigned ARES Tactical Frequency List for details.

Fourth Thursday of the Month

Messaging

In addition to our weekly roll call, this week’s exercise is on how to send ICS-213 messages via voice.  We try to practice properly sending at least two 25-word messages during the exercise.

Fifth Thursday of the Month

220 Testing

When there is a fifth Thursday of the month, in addition to our regular roll call our exercise involves migrating to the 1.25 meter band repeater to test our communication capabilities on this band.
