Announcement by KN6RBP

Our next after testing workshop will be on the PiStar WPSD dashboard
and steering a PiStar with a Yaesu HT.
I will also demonstrate DMR cross-mode and the settings associated with that.

Last Friday a email was sent to our members appearing to be from me.
The address was starzzzz2646@gmail.com. This email did not come frm me and is a Phishing email. Members that responded to it were asked to purchase gift certificates on my behalf. This is a scam that unfortunately was targeting our roster. We are looking into this but have no further information at this time. All of you were called when this happened last week. Hopefully none of our members were victimized by this vile act. Please call me if you have any questions.

All of our POTA & SOTA events going forward will be managed by Marcos KN6UNL.
Winter & Summer Field Day and our Fox Hunts will be is Managed by Bob KE6JGM.

I would like to thank KE6JGM & KN6UNL for filling these rolls. They are the perfect people for these important events and activities. Thank you both for all you do to make our events great!

Announcement By KN6UNL

This Saturday April 12th we have assembled a small group of Lee de forest Ham radio operators to scout and test Big Bear’s two POTA spots on both sides of that Lake.

The idea is to get familiar with Big Bear and activate our stations and test for interferences within our own radio group. We are open to anyone in LDFARC that would like to go and contribute to this test. Please let us know.

We are considering Big Bear as our next Ham Camp Summer activity, our members could pitch a tent to watch the sky if you’re a star gazer, rent a room or cabin for your family, the opportunity is there if we pace the pieces in correctly. We’ll be leaving this Saturday around 6:30am so we can get up there early enough to enjoy a nice country breakfast. We will start getting ready to come back down by 2:45pm and back home before 5pm
