We still need to sell more tickets for our Christmas dinner raffle. We’re raffling a yeasu 991a. It’s a great radio and tickets are just five dollars a piece or five for 20. Karen our treasurer, head of the Christmas dinner committee, is handling the sale of raffle tickets so please reach out to her and good luck.
We need a more people to opt in for our Christmas dinner, if we’re going to have in the big room at J&M. The room we had last year will not be a problem, but if we would like the larger room, we do need to sell a few more tickets. Please consider whether you and those close to you can attend. The more the merrier after all it is Christmas dinner.
Having said that the final decision really has not been made. That will happen at our next club meeting which is not this Wednesday but the following. I hope that everybody will have their decision made before they walk in the door so that there isn’t a lot of debate . Lets have all the debate on our nets leading up to next Wednesday’s meeting. I’m really looking forward to the speaker that we have lined up. Bob Brehm runs Palomar Industries and is a expert on eliminating RFI. His presentation is most of an hour. Then he will be available for questions after the presentation. So please work with me here, and we’ll have a productive fun and engaging meeting for the whole club. If you have thoughts on our Christmas Party Dinner options please speak up during roll call. My preference is J&M because all the work is done for us. All we need to do is have fun and leave when its over.
Our new website is coming along quite quickly. The feedback I’ve been getting has been positive and I’m being encouraged to put the site online. I value your ideas and opinions, so feel free to reach out to me with any thoughts you may have. The site can be found at k6ldf.com or ldarc.org. Hopefully the site will be live prior to next week’s meeting.
There’s a lot more to do but the new site has all the content of the current site and more.
This announcement and announcements going forward will be posted on the new site. You will also find past newsletters, notes on our nets, other resource material and event photos are on the NEW site.
Also check out our new Facebook group page. You’ll find a link at the bottom of the home page on the new site k6ldf.com.
This month Marcos KN6UNL is doing our newsletter this month because Hyatt KK6QPU is on vacation. We are trying a slightly different format and would like to get any feedback that you have on the newsletter when it’s sent out.
As Bob pointed out, testing is this coming Saturday. After testing I will be demonstrating NANO VNA. If you have bought a NANO or are considering it I hope to see you there.
Once again, I would like to thank everybody who participated in last week’s information net. Many people got a lot out of it, so to those who participated thank you. And to those who maintained a clear frequency and allowed us to pass information thank you as well. Finally to those who are grieving over the loss of life and property, our prayers are with you.
