Last Saturday evening, Hemet held it’s Annual Christmas Parade.
We had a great spot and a lot of fun. In addition to the parade, there was snow, great food and a lot of visitors. We gave away 2 UV5R radios. One to a six year old kid, who could not have possibly been more excited. Lot’s of newsletter sign ups. Some people who want to test, and a few local existing hams who would like to get more involved in the hobby.
Thank you for stopping by. We look forward to hearing you on this repeater soon.
We would like to Thank The City of Hemet for a great event and location. W6WDS who was there the entire time help set up and tear down. We also used his pop-up and table, and benefited considerably from his experience with events and ham radio. LDARC looks forward to more partner events like this one Thank you again Bill Stewart. I’d also like to thank KN6MJS & KN6UNL. Both of you worked all day at your jobs and then came and helped us right to the end. You guys made a big difference and your help is much appreciated. We would also like to thank KE6JGM, KK6VZZ, and KN6SOG for coming by and lending a hand, bringing us food and making this club look great. Several other members stopped by thank you as well. And finally thank you KN6PUR. You made this happen with the city. You were there the whole evening helping. You even purchased lights for the tent that worked out great!. Thank you very much for all you do for this club.
As some of you may have heard next Saturday is our Christmas dinner. Tickets are still available for dinner @ $25 each. A raffle with two pi stars and a 991a. The raffle also includes t-shirts, hats and more. Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20. They will be some acknowledgments. We are now at 74 people. Karen, you have done a fantastic job. Thank you once again for you very hard work on this event. And Marcos and I begin our new roles with the club. Being club president is certainly going to be a new experience for me, and I’m hoping a great year for the Lee DeForest amateur radio club.
Tonight for Bands & Modes after a half hour of normal Eagle net activity on 10M 28.360 Mhz USB, we will go to 75M 3.884 MHz LSB. That will be at 8:30 this evening. Hope to hear you tonight on HF, and see you this Saturday, at J&M restaurant, for our LDARC Christmas Dinner and ceremonies. 73
